Dear edorasware customer
In this release we have focused on code hardening. Application structure was refactored together with the GenericWorkObjectService interface. We’ll be doing more of that over the coming sprints, which will prepare us for some amazing new features and enhancements we are planning.
VIS has improved new model creation with direct associating new models in the editor, amongst other fixes.
For detailed information please see the relevant sections.
Best regards,
the edorasware team
App improvements
A significant internal refactoring of the edoras one app structure is included in this release. From a user perspective there is no change, and existing edoras one app files are still supported, but application code that works with apps and/or models may have to be reviewed and perhaps updated when upgrading to this release. For details please refer to the upgrade notes.
Updated GenericWorkObjectService interface
The following changes have been made to the GenericWorkObjectService
. In most cases the existing interface is
supported without changes, but there are some interface changes that will result in compilation errors in application code.
If you have some compilation errors after upgrading then please refer to the upgrade notes.
The changes needed in each case are all minor.
-
new methods are provided based on the work object ID, simplifying the integration with ID-based code
-
the performance of the ID lookup methods has been improved by introducing caches
-
addWorkObject
methods now return the persisted work object so no additional lookup is required -
the various
startEntity
methods have been cleaned up and now useVariableMap
exclusively
Using the new functionality it may also be possible to simplify some existing application code.
Associating new models in vis editor
A minor change has been implemented in the way new models are created from with in the vis editor, while associating/referencing them with
the user task, process task, case task, etc. elements. Now the reference dialog has a Name
field where the name of the new model being created has to be
provided. On clicking OK a new model is created and then opened in a new browser tab for making further changes.
